The Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach stands as a poignant tribute to the six million Jews who perished during the Holocaust. Located at 1933–1945 Meridian Avenue—a symbolic address reflecting the years of Nazi rule—the memorial was conceived by Holocaust survivors in 1984 and officially dedicated in 1990, with Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel speaking at the opening ceremony. Designed by architect Kenneth Treister, its centerpiece is the striking "Sculpture of Love and Anguish," a 40-foot bronze hand reaching skyward, surrounded by anguished human figures. The memorial also features a contemplative garden, a reflecting pool, and a Memorial Wall inscribed with the names of victims. Open daily from 9:30 a.m. to sunset, the site offers free admission and serves as a place of remembrance, education, and reflection for visitors worldwide.
